Shoreline Middle School

Each year we host a food drive to benefit our community.  This year we are excited to announce that all donations will benefit our very own Panther Pantry!  Shoreline Families in need can use the sign up link in our parent newsletter to connect with our social worker, Ms. Chante, to receive food and hygiene products from the pantry.

A school-wide competition began  Friday, November 8th with an announcement for students to bring non-perishable items to their 1st period classes.   The class that brings in the most items to the food drive (based on a class size to donation amount percentage) will get donuts!

The individual students who donate the most will have the chance to participate in incentive rewards donated by teachers.  In the past we have had a shaved head, a pie to the face, letting students do a teacher’s makeup, and more.

High need items include:

  • Individually packaged granola bars, fruit snacks, goldfish crackers, juice boxes, and trail mix
  • Staples such as peanut butter, jelly/jam, honey, pancake mix, syrup, instant oatmeal, breakfast cereal, canned beans, dried pasta, pasta sauce, ramen, easy mac, boxed macaroni and cheese, canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned soup such as cream of chicken and cream of mushroom, bagged rice, canned chicken, shelf stable milk, and more.
  • Hygiene products such as dental floss, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant and tampons

In addition to bringing items to the school, you may use the Panther Pantry Amazon Wishlist Link to shop online.  Remember to include a gift note for your student to receive credit for those donated items that will arrive directly to the school.

Student Government and Latinos in Action will announce the classes in the lead each week and remind students all donations are due by Friday, November 22nd.  Let’s show our Panther Pride and bring in those donations!
