2025 – 2026 8th Grade Registration Instructions English

Shoreline Middle School Faculty and Staff are looking forward to welcoming you to the 2025-2026 school year. Class registration must be completed online. This will be done in PowerSchool through the Student or Parent Portal. The open registration window is February 14 thru February 21. All needed instructions are detailed on the back of this worksheet. We encourage you to look through the course description booklet carefully. This will allow you to make thoughtful decisions when it comes to choosing your courses for next year. The course description booklet may be found in the following places:

Registration Instructions:

• Step 1: Go to the registration website and click  on the sign in tab
  • Registration Site 
  • Username: jh012345 (first initial of your first name, first initial of your last name, zero + your lunch number)
  • password: 8/10/06
• Step 2: Login to your PowerSchool Student or Parent Portal Account
• Step 3: Click on Class Registration under Navigation (left side of screen), you will see the following requirements in the class registration system
  • 7th Grade Core
  • The following state required classes will automatically be placed in your schedule. MATH level will be based on teacher recommendation and end-of-level testing.
    • 8th Grade Mathematics – 851120 – 0 credits
    • U.S. History I – 853110 – 0 credits
    • Health Education I – 856220 – 0 credits
  • Click the edit button to request a course 
    • 8th Grade Language Arts Core – Number of requests to generate : 1
    • 8th Grade Integrated Science Core – Number of requests to generate : 1
      • To be considered for the STEM Program, select STEM Integrated Science 8 – Honors
    • 8th Grade PE Core – Number of requests to generate : 1
    • 8th Grade Electives – Number of requests to generate : 1
      • Do not pick electives you took in the 7th Grade! You must select 6 elective classes. There are 4 pages of available electives.
    • Additional Requests
      • Requests that are currently not associated with any requirement group.
• Step 4: Click Submit
